NAVIGATING THE LANDSCAPE:

Thriving as the Only in the Room

In today’s diverse and dynamic community, it is not uncommon to find oneself as the only person of a particular identity or background in the room. Through engaging discussions and real-life examples, Kourtni and attendees will explore the impacts of being the only. In this session, Kourtni will also talk with the group about navigating spaces (work, professional organizations, boards, etc.) where you’re the only while also striving to make an impact.

Presented by: Kourtni M. Hatton, SHRM-CP

Kourtni is the Vice President & Chief People & Equity Officer at United Way of Central Ohio.

In her role, Ms. Hatton is responsible for amplifying United Way’s DEI, workplace culture and employee engagement efforts.  She directs funded partner board diversity strategies, leads external and internal DEI committees, and oversees the Project Diversity Pride Leadership nonprofit board and leadership development program.

next Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion SIG is May 15

ABOUT THE DIVERSITY, EQUITY, & INCLUSION SIG

We provide a forum for COATD members to gain knowledge, learn about best practices, and share resources with one another. In addition, this forum will champion the efforts around diversity, equity, and inclusion for talent development professionals to embrace our multicultural workforce.
