Time: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Webinar
Every day our workplaces provide us with opportunities to learn, and it’s the smart employee who recognizes these learning opportunities. Being aware of these opportunities is the first step to improving your job performance to accelerate career growth.
Daniel R. Tobin, PhD., Corporate Learning Strategist, believes that learning should be an everyday activity for employees at all levels of an organization. While training programs may include one or more weeks of formal training per year, studies show that 70% – 80% of learning is informal in nature. How do we, as professional trainers, leverage this informal learning to get maximum value from our formal training programs? Dr. Tobin’s interactive webinar, based on his newest book* Learn Your Way to Success, will show us how.
During the webinar, we will examine a variety of informal learning methods such as learning from other team members, asking questions, using creative and critical thinking skills, and learning from trial and error. When discussing each method, Dr. Tobin will show us how to use these methods ourselves, and review how we can facilitate these types of learning methods for other employees.
Throughout the webinar, we will have opportunities to learn from each other via polls and sharing personal learning stories. Dr. Tobin will conclude by discussing how to keep a personal learning journal to help us plan what we want to learn and track what we have already learned.
Dr. Tobin has more than 30 years of experience in the learning and development field, and is the author of seven books on corporate learning strategies. To learn more about Dr. Tobin, visit his website at http://nextgenerationofleaders.com/
