Letter From Your President, Dana Vogelmeir
Dear Central Ohio ATD members,
I hope you are excited to begin a new year with your own
personal development plan that will enable you to help your organization create
a world that works better! That is what ATD brings to its members, learning opportunities
to improve themselves and the workplace.
We have great plans in place based on your input from the
Membership Survey last year. You will see some things remain and some new
programs based on your input. Here are a few things you can expect to see:
- We will continue our Networking for a Cause
effort called “COATD Loves Columbus.” We were able to contribute to our
community by bringing canned goods for the hungry, socks for the homeless, and
Toys for Tots to our networking events. Everyone involved loved this idea and
welcomed giving to others less fortunate.
- We had an incredible Technology & Design
Conference in September which continues to get bigger and better every
year. There was wonderful feedback and we’ve already begun discussions about
how to make it filled with great content (and fun) for you this fall.
- In 2019 we held our inaugural Emerging
Professionals Showcase. This was a huge hit and the brainchild of Cara
North, Past President. We will continue this event in 2020 as well. If you were
not able to attend in 2019, try to go this year so you can see some amazing
ideas and potentially use them in your work place.
- We will be expanding our Special Interest
Groups (SIGs) in 2020 based on your survey feedback. These meetings are really well attended and a
great opportunity to expand your learning and your professional network! Look
for new ones, too!
- We will continue to offer you variety in our
programming. Tell us what you think!
You will see periodic shout outs looking for helpers. We are
a volunteer led organization and want to continue offering you up to date
industry information and programs to help you develop for the future. If you
can help out, please let us know! We’d love to have you!
I look forward to being your President this year and welcome
your thoughts so feel free to email me directly: email@example.com I am honored to work with and learn from all
