Director, Learning and Development at Victoria's Secret

PURPOSE:

The Director of Learning and Development is responsible for creating and delivering learning and development programs for the Victoria’s Secret field organization. S/he will work with business leadership to translate store and brand priorities into a strategic learning and development framework and to facilitate the timely and effective execution of key learning initiatives. Advance the service and selling culture and product expertise of 40,000+ associates through the design, development and execution of learning programs and support tools, in order to support business objectives and the desired customer experience. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGY

– Strategy development of multi-faceted learning agendas based on business goals and objectives that advance the culture and the capabilities of our sales organization

– Identify and take action on pertinent internal and external customer insights through educational programs

– Drives the team to develop innovative, engaging, and challenging learning designs that improve service and selling capabilities and product expertise

– Influences and drives alignment with Store Operations leadership

– Leads and drives the stores learning and development budget in partnership with stores finance team

– Innovates around learning technology and learning management system for the field organization.

EXECUTION

– Plan and drive execution of all aspects of education development including needs analysis, design, development, and evaluation

– Implement large scale learning agendas across multiple units and audiences with a focus on service and selling mindsets and skills

– Oversee multi-media production of learning designs included, but not limited to digital, web, video, print, and audio

– Collaborate with subject matter experts to maximize potential to achieve learning objectives

LEADERSHIP

– Influence and partner with merchant and store ops leadership to create educational strategies that support large scale initiaives

– Influence, gain buy-in, and align subject matter experts on the learning strategies, communicating the impact learning through various business metrics and results

– Coach others on projects outside the scope of the team to ensure educational integrity and consistency of messaging

– Motivate and develop direct reports to achieve higher levels of quality, innovation, and personal achievement

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

– 10 years’ experience with a minimum of 3 years in a senior management role leading a training function

– Recent experience with e-learning and distance learning technology required

– Demonstrated ability to drive results through learning

– Ability to influence others

– Experience in implementing complex, multi-unit, multi-audience learning programs

– Superior written communication, facilitation and presentation skills

– Proven track record of talent identification, development, and retention

– Established ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously in a spontaneous, fast- paced environment, with excellent orientation to the details

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Learning & Organizational Development, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
