Instructional Designer - Part-time Project Based

Our Fortune 500 client is seeking an experienced, self-motivated part-time, project-based Instructional Designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong training development background. You must be an experienced instructional designer, effective communicator, and efficient program developer with the ability to coordinate work across an extended team. The designer will support the design and development of new and existing blended and/or online instructor-led course offerings.

 

*This will be project-based, as needed work. Ideal candidates should be able to devote a minimum of 20% of their work to normal business hours for meetings, calls, etc.. Candidates should also be within driving distance to the Akron, Ohio area as there may be the occasional need to go on-site once offices open back up.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop learning content that focuses on knowledge, skills and competency development that will improve performance and drive business impact
  • Utilize instructional design, adult learning principles and innovative strategies in the conception, design and development of learning assets
  • Collaborate with subject matter professionals on course design and development to translate business content into learner-centered experiences
  • Design, create and oversee the creation of a variety of materials utilizing desktop software and Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) compliant authoring tools (Articulate Rise of Articulate) and apply fundamental research skills to instructional design projects
  • Review learning experiences against outlined training objectives, company brand standards
  • Review training products to see that they reflect an understanding of the diversity and groups of learners

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of three years of recent experience in instructional design and learning asset materials development; preferably from a professional services firm
  • Experience facilitating design sessions and interviewing project sponsors and subject matter professionals to gain insight on learning requirements (e.g. target audience analysis, content scope and context and case study development)
  • Must have demonstrated experience designing for various modalities and formats, including digital, virtual, classroom, blended, simulation, social/collaborative, infographics, supporting guides, etc.
  • Prior knowledge of designing interactive learning interventions and performance support tools and creating detailed storyboards
  • Excellent organizational, communications, relationship and project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines, manage heavy workloads and prioritize

SCHEDULE

  • This will be project-based, as needed work.
  • 1-2 days per week for 3 months starting in May (maybe longer)

PAY

  • Pay: Negotiable based on experience
